aliveness_probe --render gains a 6th glaciation panel; glaciated
districts get an ice tint keyed on GlaciationGrade, and Marine
vegetation renders [0,96,172] — distinct from the morphology water
tones so district-carrier vs voxel-generator disagreement stays
visible in ladders.

Renders true-2km district maps (derive_district per cell, NOT the coarse eager grid) as PNGs: morphology (17-zone palette transliterated from atlas_marker_overlay.gd, sync-commented), elev/temp/moisture/vegetation panels, anchor crosshair, km-honest filenames + manifest. believability.rs gains cascade_snapshot_for_body (cascade_for_body now a thin wrapper); probe re-derives the D-203-freed TerrainAnalysis via run_layer1 only under --render. Determinism proven: 5/5 panels byte-identical across passes AND cross-process (md5s reproduced in a fresh run). ~8us/district debug. First-ever look at the district layer produced the T-1125/T-1126/T-1127 findings (D-227 seam ends at ~500km; ocean-blind vegetation; unrendered glaciation).

Promote the throwaway aliveness probe into a committed, repeatable believability
protocol — the instrument that found T-1080/T-1081/T-1082.
- atlas/believability.rs (new): BelievabilityReport (serde) + analyze() computing
CONTRAST (per-field min/max/distinct for moisture/elev/slope/ocean over all
districts; distinct morphology zones / vegetation classes / terrain materials)
and COHERENCE (water-renders-wet, drainage-monotonic, vegetation-present) — never
marginal per-tile counts (the lesson: that called a broken uniform world ALIVE).
evaluate_criteria() = advisory D-245 checks; cascade_for_body()/seed_to_u64()
loader shared by the bin and the harness. Unit tests prove the metric tells a
uniform world (fails) from a varied one (passes) + determinism.
- bin/aliveness_probe.rs: refactored to a thin CLI over the module — prints the
body-level report + advisory D-245 criteria, drops the naive per-tile verdict.
- tests/believability_harness.rs (+ golden): runs the real cascade for Arbour
(temperate/ocean) + Edict (frozen/ice), asserts determinism, golden-snapshots
the reports (regression — updates when T-1080/T-1082 land), advisory criteria
with BELIEVABILITY_STRICT=1 to fail on unmet D-245 criteria. Skips if committed
data absent. x86_64 golden (cascade has f32 warp paths).
Baseline @ believability-v1: Arbour 3/7, Edict 3/7 criteria pass — moisture
gradient, water-renders-wet, drainage all FAIL (T-1080/T-1082); Edict vegetation
0/64 (blank tundra — the frozen 'reads dead' case D-245 targets).
PNG layer maps (ticket item 3) deferred — explicitly optional; the contrast +
coherence metrics are the core enforcer.
clippy --all-targets -D warnings clean; 1575 lib tests + the harness pass.

Lock the cascade's nature-half deliverable to "reads alive anywhere", not
"implemented" — the holy-grail objective surfaced by probing the generation
cascade.
- D-245 (architecture): the nature layers are accepted only when the
believability litmus passes at randomly-sampled locations across all
habitable bodies/seeds — multi-scale + never-repeating (macro identity,
meso non-stationarity, micro mosaic), coherence + non-stationarity +
intra-class variety + relief + climate-appropriateness, automated screen
under a human sign-off, budgeted -> strict. Q-123: threshold calibration.
- T-1079 (epic, north-star, DoD=D-245) + findings T-1080 (uniform climate
fields), T-1081 (near-zero relief), T-1082 (no water-body generator),
T-1084 (intra-class micro-habitat mosaic), and T-1083 (the repeatable
believability test protocol / D-245 enforcer).
- aliveness_probe bin: the exploratory probe that found these (runs the
deterministic cascade for a body+seed, reports per-district nature +
verdict). Seed for T-1083.

- workers/pool.rs: 5 new tests; catch_unwind keeps worker threads alive on
handler panic (in-flight request loss unchanged, pinned by test + #843
docs); stubs.rs no longer falsely claims the pool is tested
- save/load: execute_save_load pinned .after(Storyteller) so the scheduler
cannot legally save pre-Input state; exclusive-system exception recorded
in tick_phases.rs rules
- surname corpus extracted to bin/shared/surname_corpus.rs (both economy
generators import it; byte-identical output verified on 23.6MB+1.45MB
TOMLs); all three stamp/watch registries updated
- generator_spike gated behind non-default 'generator-spike' feature
- economy.rs: 11 new D-181 signal-derivation tests on the new
econ_sim Simulation::from_economy in-memory constructor
- perception exemption comments now state the consumer sort contract;
unused bytemuck removed; rayon comment corrected; the 22 allow(dead_code)
documented as serde schema enforcement

Per R-012: delete conversation.rs, both overheard content files, and
remove all 6 wire-up points (social_plugin, bridge/types, monologue,
voice/integration). Protocol version 22 → 23. Scope confirmed by
#842 audit — npc/ and content/global/ untouched. Surviving NPC
components (NpcName, NpcColorIndex, NpcConversation) migrated to
simulation/npc_components.rs for use by D-080 knowledge propagation.
Also applies pre-existing cargo fmt debt (names.rs and 4 others).

- HashMap → BTreeMap throughout econ-sim for deterministic iteration (D-010)
- Fix cost_factor: multiplicative gate×zone instead of additive (trade.rs)
- Extract derive_seed to shared prng.rs, consolidate FNV-1a implementation
- Rename run_shock_test → run_no_explosion_check (not D-179 Test 3)
- Deduplicate cross-zone FX rate collection in Test 4
- Replace ORDER BY RANDOM() with deterministic ordering + ChaCha8Rng
- Make commodity coverage failure a hard error consistent with D-175
- Fix gap-fill off-by-one (4 corps → 3 when coverage = 0)
- Correct test report: EconEvent exists, location_type is body/station
All four D-179 stability tests still pass.

Adds server/src/bin/generate_corporations and tooling/generate-corporations
wrapper. Generates ~5,000 Tier-3 corp instances from Tier-1/2 template
archetypes with seeded name generation (FNV-1a + corridor-weighted PRNG).
Writes wiki markdown stubs for each generated corporation.

"Biome" describes per-zone vegetation classification (Whittaker table).
"Planet class" describes overall planetary character. The conflation
caused the planet generator to misclassify ~270 bodies as barren.
Scope: systems.db column, schema SQL, Rust atlas code, wiki table
headers (Biome → Class), atlas proposal JSONs, all docs/decisions,
tooling scripts. Also normalizes atmosphere vocabulary (breathable →
standard) and expands planet class mapping to all 26 wiki values.
Unknown classes default to temperate for modder safety.

The refactor from &Commands to individual parameters exposed the
13-argument signature to clippy. Allow attribute is appropriate
here — the parameters map 1:1 to DB columns.

Extract 2119-line monolithic atlas.rs into 8 focused modules under
src/bin/atlas/: main.rs (thin dispatch), common.rs (shared types and
DB helpers), show.rs, mutate.rs, stats.rs, systems.rs, author.rs,
and sync_wiki.rs. Commands enum stays in main.rs; each match arm
delegates to module::cmd_fn(&conn, args). No behavior change.
Closes#776.

Review fixes:
- corridor-status: INNER JOIN → LEFT JOIN so systems without gate
records are included in counts instead of silently excluded
- corridor-status: output as JSON (serde_json) matching all other
atlas commands, instead of plain-text ASCII table
- generate_body_matrix: emit atmosphere "standard" instead of
"breathable" to match committed-system conventions
- Doc header: add corridor-status usage example
- CHANGELOG: note stale habitable_planet_count in pre-fix systems

#762: Update habitable_planet_count filter to accept both "breathable"
and "standard" atmosphere values via matches! macro. Previously only
matched "breathable", causing all committed systems to report 0
habitable planets.
#744: Add corridor-status subcommand to atlas CLI. Shows remaining
unfinished systems grouped by geographic_sector and hop_distance,
with plain text table output and totals.
Cargo.lock updated for v0.1.29.

New `list-systems` subcommand with --sector, --hop, --finished, --unfinished
filters. Also adds --sector flag to existing `unfinished` and `next` commands
for corridor-scoped queries during atlas authoring.

Schema: added orbital_period_days and rotation_period_hours to bodies
table. Proposal format now includes surface_gravity, orbital_period_days,
rotation_period_hours with sensible defaults per body type.
New sync-wiki command generates a Celestial Bodies section in wiki
pages from DB data. All 16 fields rendered including Year (d) and
Day (h). Re-authored Gateway (GJ 71) with full physics.

New atlas subcommand: sync-wiki generates a Celestial Bodies section
in wiki pages from DB body/station data. All fields rendered: orbit,
ID, name, type, inhabited, population, mass, gravity, atmosphere,
biome, hydrosphere, economy, settlement pattern, industrial corridor.
Stations table includes docking class, governance, gate flag, districts.
Moons render indented under their parent body (↳ notation).
Section is idempotent — re-running overwrites the existing section.
DB is source of truth, wiki is generated output. No import direction.

New commands: author (generates proposal JSON per system from wiki + DB
data), commit-system (writes approved proposal to DB), wipe-system
(clears a system's bodies/stations), unfinished (lists systems without
bodies). Removed the batch populate command.
The author command reads the wiki page, extracts habitable/inhabited
counts, generates a body ID matrix based on star type, and writes a
reviewable JSON proposal. Human reviews, edits, then commits.

Rust binary (server/src/bin/atlas.rs) with commands: show-system,
show-body, show-station, list-bodies, list-stations, add-body,
add-station, stats, populate. Reads from server/data/systems.db.
Wrapper at tooling/atlas, skill at .claude/skills/atlas/SKILL.md.
Scope note: atlas will grow to cover the full geographic hierarchy
(planetary surfaces, settlements, districts) as the cascade progresses.
Also: removed stale star_systems table from settledreach.db (belongs
in systems.db only) and ran initial populate pass (329 bodies + 301
horizon stations across 301 systems).

Pre-existing formatting issues in generator_spike.rs and
validate_ron.rs caught by the new pre-push lint hook.

- validate_ron: add eligible_roles referential integrity check against
defined RoleSpec.id values in zone-type templates
- v01-yaml-content-audit.md: fix grep path from data/templates to
server/data/templates in the superseded-files verification command
- pre-commit hook: comment out nonexistent check-decision-ids script
to stop per-commit warnings until the script is implemented

Content files (RON templates, YAML campaigns, gauntlet data) are consumed
exclusively by the server. Colocate them at server/content/ and update all
path references in Rust source, tooling scripts, and schema files.

System S-057 assigned to real star GJ 35 (Van Maanen's Star, DG white
dwarf at 13.9 ly). Renamed across all content, server code, docs,
decisions, wiki lore, and config files. 224 files updated.

Delete the hand-authored YAML content pipeline (server/src/content/) superseded
by the v0.2 generator-first approach (D-122, D-128). Runtime ECS types that were
co-located with content loading have been extracted to dedicated simulation modules:
- simulation/triangle.rs: TriangleState, TriangleCrisisEventQueue, tick/resolve systems
- simulation/line_pool.rs: LinePoolIndex, AccessTier, TrustTier, Mood, LinePoolIndexResource
- simulation/knowledge_grant.rs: KnowledgeGrant, Prerequisites
Monologue systems (trigger_monologue, trigger_recognition_monologue,
trigger_event_monologue) now use hardcoded fallback lines only; the
ContentStoreResource branch and select_pool_line function are removed.
Deleted: content/{loader,types,line_pool,hot_reload,spawn,instantiation,entanglement,mod}.rs
Deleted: tests/{content_loading,content_runtime,content_scaling,template_instantiation,template_schema}.rs
Deleted: bin/line_preview.rs (v0.1 tool)

Four generator spike improvements in one pass:
- #628: Fix name pool first-pick bias. build_name_pool now derives a
zone+culture-specific ChaCha20 RNG via FNV-1a mixing of (seed,
zone_type, culture_id), isolating name ordering from main RNG
consumption. Different zone types with the same seed now produce
different first names.
- #629: Behavior dedup within a zone run. build_behavior_pools
pre-shuffles each role's behavior list; gen_behaviors draws without
replacement. Falls back to random repeat with warning when pool
exhausts.
- #631: Relationship-to-behavior pipeline. Third generation pass
(~50% chance) replaces primary behavior with relationship-revealing
action — rivals talk past each other, friends drift together,
subordinates defer.
- #632: Want/State layer. NpcWant enum (Neutral/Bored/Alert/Suspicious/
AvoidingSomeone/LookingForInfo) biased by traits and role. Fourth
generation pass produces observable tells that leak internal state
through behavior. AvoidingSomeone resolves against negative-valence
relationships for named targets.

Add generator-spike binary producing NPC rosters from hardcoded zone and
culture stubs. Deterministic via SimRng, supports rural and industrial
zone types with Krenn culture. Phase 2 (RON file loading) wired via
--from-files flag, awaiting copy team deliverables (#609, #610).

Define ZoneSpec, CultureProfile, and NpcBlueprint structs with serde/RON
deserialization. Ship example RON files as schema contract for the copy
team (#609, #610). Add validate-ron CLI for copy team to lint their files
without compiling the server.

Keep all new variants from both branches: Greeting (copy), FirstMeeting
and RepeatedVisit (server). Combine Mood doc comments.

InteractionMemory component tracks interaction_count, last_interaction_tick,
and notable_events per NPC. Drives D-028 Layer 2 situation activation:
first_meeting (count==0) and repeated_visit (count>=3). warm_active in mood
system now derives from InteractionMemory within a 300-tick window.
Trust progression wired into dialogue systems: talk completion (+1),
walk-away (-1), confrontation (-2) emit TrustEvents consumed by update_trust.
InteractionEvent (WalkAway, Confrontation) recorded in notable_events for
fast per-pair access.
Adds FirstMeeting and RepeatedVisit Situation variants. 18 unit tests in
interaction.rs. All arithmetic integer-only (D-010 determinism). No HashMap.

8-state NPC mood FSM driven by stress, time of day, and interaction events.
Adds MoodState component, derive_mood() pure function, and update_mood() Bevy
system wired into NpcPlugin. Adds Focused as 9th Mood content tag (D-035
Sprint 8 amendment). Syncs CurrentMood for Layer 4 dialogue selection.
31 unit tests covering priority ordering, boundary conditions, and system
integration. All random values route through SimRng (D-010 determinism).
No floats. No HashMap.

- Add content/_schema/dialogue-line.schema.json — canonical standalone line schema
with all 6 structural + 3 selection + 2 authoring-only tags and $defs for
monologue extension (character, trigger, prerequisite)
- Update dialogue-pool.schema.json: add dual_lens and notes authoring-only tags,
add additionalProperties: false to knowledge_grant
- Update monologue-pool.schema.json: add all 6 structural tags as required fields
for schema compliance (role=player_character, access=[public], trust=surface are
constrained constants); add topic, mood, dual_lens, notes
- Enumerate all 14 v0.1 situations and 9 v0.1 topics as allowed enum values per D-035
- Fix Rust sync gap: add Situation::Greeting and Mood::Focused to line_pool.rs
(D-035 Sprint 8 amendments — were in schema but missing from Rust enums, causing
content with these values to be silently dropped at runtime)
- Update line_preview.rs situation_str, mood_str match arms and help text for
new variants; all 25 line_pool tests pass
