jpmschweitzerandClaude Fable 5 1f199b9717 fix(briefings): correct eleven decision-id mis-citations from the f4c72e148 pass (T-1199)
The 2026-03-13 'update all 18 briefings' commit transcribed a family of
adjacent-id slips while summarizing the Where's the Fun? workshop batch,
copied forward by every later maintenance pass: D-126<->D-134 swapped,
D-136 written as D-131, D-137 as D-136, D-130 as D-131, D-120 as D-137.
Fixed in gore/mellanie/ozzie/stig/nigel briefings; every correction
verified against the record's actual body (D-130's emergent-moral-arc
and D-120's no-skill-ceiling were resolved beyond the clerk's audit by
body-matching — the nigel D-137 fix would otherwise have created
contradictory citations in one file). Governance records untouched
(they were always correct); sprint archives verified already-correct.
Remaining 13 briefings from the same commit: T-1205.

jpmschweitzerandClaude Fable 5 deeec94ec9 chore(meta): pql changelog — T-1157 review transition (write-through landed main-side via FR-4 vault resolution)
Tyre's PR #212 finding 1: the review-status row existed only in a live
DB, unrecorded in any git-tracked changelog — a rebuild reverted it.
Root cause: pql run from the capture worktree resolved the MAIN vault
(FR-4), so the write-through row landed here, uncommitted. Committing
it main-side makes the transition rebuild-safe; branch and main
changelog rows union at merge.

jpmschweitzerandClaude Fable 5 7d5a774fa5 docs(assets): Phase-4 visual style bible in palette.md (T-1052)
Authors the full style bible: camera table separating D-148 gameplay from
D-019 offline-renderer use; the delegated toon-vs-PBR ruling (environment
props share the character toon treatment, with a minimal-PBR carve-out for
glass/polished metal so sightlines read truthfully under occlusion-based
perception); a color/material register for every D-235 ObjectTag (hue,
grain, D-217-keyed weathering); and explicit supersession notes both ways
with visual-grammar-v01.md and the mood-board workshop transcript.
Includes branch-side pql changelog rows (T-1050/T-1052 -> review); the
worktree pre-commit export step failed benignly (write-through had
already refreshed the files) so they are staged explicitly here.

the branch-side planning store — same bookkeeping-lag class as PR #208's
T-1195 finding: the write-through rows were awaiting this commit.

jpmschweitzerandClaude Fable 5 cd2f342421 feat(simulation): step-canvas serving — tagged envelope (D-255, T-1181)
The D-225-discharging wire migration per D-255(c): a new
server/src/atlas/step_canvas.rs subsystem (six-rung StepCanvasRung
ladder — Global variable-extent rung 0 through Chunk 64m — the
StepCanvasRequest/StepCanvasResponse tagged envelope extending the
proven ShapeProbe discriminated-shape pattern, PNG-per-field dense +
MessagePack-native sparse encoding per the T-1179 measured table, and
both server cache tiers: the structurally keep-always GlobalTierCache
and the dual-axis StepCanvasCache with storage TTLs per rung and
SIM_STATE_TTL clock-bucket staleness per the D-227 amendment (1)
formula). Wired through bridge/{mod,tcp,local}.rs (sixth demux shape,
send_step_canvas_response mirroring the five existing senders),
gen_queue.rs (DeriveStepCanvas work item with per-connection-per-rung
coalescing, reusing the shared TerrainAnalysisCache), and plugin.rs
(serve/complete systems, lazy D-206 rung-0 population).

Acceptance gate (mandatory per D-227 amendment (3)):
tests/step_canvas_acceptance_gate.rs — cache-hit == cache-miss
byte-identical for every rung, lossless encode round-trips, cache
round-trips vs fresh derive, distinct-center sanity. 5/5 pass.

Station-spacing cap ADOPTED: course stations floored to District
spacing (2,048 m) at finer rungs — the S2-measured +38-87% chunk/block
course cost had zero display benefit at the same station density
(COURSE_STATION_SPACING_FLOOR_M).

Documented honest gaps, not shortcuts: settlement_id is a proximity
approximation (no footprint polygons exist yet); glaciation/flooded_q
sim-state planes are wire-shape-ready D-253 stubs; rung-0 uses signed
equator-anchored rows (the canonical D-256 core convention — T-1186's
wrong-latitude behavior applies unchanged and unfixed here, by
instruction).

Legacy district_window carrier byte-unchanged: window_derivation_golden
6/6 byte-identical, all district_window suites pass unmodified. Full
suite at implementation time: 2127 passed across 45 binaries.

jpmschweitzerandClaude Fable 5 e148e7258d docs(meta): secure the cascade as the Phase-5 walkable-world mechanism (D-012 amendment)
Jeroen's gap catch: T-750 never stated that the seed-to-tile cascade is
also what determines the world where the player walks. Now connected in
one statement across three homes: D-012 amendment (the founding 'chunks
load/unload around the player' driver now concretely = the D-227/D-239
cascade; 3x3 chunk neighborhood minimum, coarser context self-provided by
D-255(f) function composition, Atlas interaction never a precondition,
byte-identical either way), the matching T-750 deliverable note (in
changelog), and a one-truth consumer note on Q-093 for the Phase-5 insert
minimap (design deferred, no independent map pipeline expected).

jpmschweitzerandClaude Fable 5 b613443d51 test(simulation): post-adversarial workshop benches — population survey, chunk rung, S2 density, global tier
hydrology_equilibrium_bench: bench_population_survey_all_committed_bodies
(all 267 real heightmaps solved independently — zero carved cells population-
wide, ~0.86s total, byte-exact determinism; closes Troblum B1) +
bench_per_basin_size_distribution_real_population (22,270 basins: dense wins
100% for lake carriers). bmv_gridunit_bench: chunk-64m per-cell + deep-step
canvas benches (1,838 ns/cell, ~1.7s full 4K; Option D's missing row) + S2
courses-density benches (+38-87% at chunk/block, mechanism traced to station
spacing scaling with rung cutoff). bmv_global_tier_bench (new): real per-body
radii from systems.db via BodyParamsReader — global tier ~8.85MB PNG across
the population (supersedes the ~174MB mis-priced figure), rung-0 derive
~16-21ms/body measured. All #[ignore]d release tests, stability re-run.

The nature arc's biggest batch: courses invented per window (the
carrier-rule three-way refinement), coast termination, riparian
signal, mouths honest at every rung. Tyre APPROVE (his own ruling
implemented; on-record that Hoshe's blocking find was his miss);
Hoshe APPROVE (the seaward-discard find — ship-visible mouth
vanishing — plus three permanent invariant pins from the live rounds,
everything re-broken by his own hand); Araminta APPROVED (tables
final; her pixel audits drove two of the three Godot rasterizer-
regime discoveries now recorded in D-226 for T-1176). Cold re-checked
on MERGED main (.cache/screenshots/river-courses-main/ — the estuary
ring shot). Unblocks nothing gated; next per Jeroen: the T-1176
