jpmschweitzerandClaude Opus 4.7 d474d9edff update member memory from first Council session
All ten voting members now have a first entry in journal.md referencing
the Volt NL fit session, plus first substantive content in
on-the-user.md. Common threads captured independently across several
members: the user's standing rejection of strategic voting, EU
federalism and democracy/digital-rights as co-foundational pair, and
SMR-positive climate pragmatism.

revisit.md left untouched across all ten — every member reported the
session closed cleanly with no dangling threads worth future attention.
Researcher and Scribe have no journals by design.

## 2026-04-19 — [[sessions/2026-04-19_volt-nl-fit/outcome|Is Volt the correct party for the user in the Netherlands?]]
**Stance:** Yes — Volt is a structurally rare fit: EU federalism as constitutional commitment, not rhetoric; digital rights and democracy as paired values; SMR-openness; a wealth-tax position the user had already reasoned themselves toward. The small-party parliamentary-influence question was real but not disqualifying given the user's explicit rejection of strategic voting.
**Revised-answer gist:** Confirmed fit, with the addition that Volt's transnational architecture is uniquely positioned to outlast the current populist wave — the party's value isn't just present policy alignment but structural resilience across a fifty-year horizon.
**Vote:** Tavsan. Sharper on the identity-representation dimension and the emotional register of the recommendation; I deferred to that framing over my own systems-level one.
**Outcome:** Koskela won, 4 votes. Unanimous yes on the underlying question. My vote was with the minority bloc (Okafor, Vire, Tintori → Tavsan, 3 votes). Koskela 4, Vaasa 2.
**Lesson:** When the question is personal fit rather than policy analysis, the member who centres the user's self-description often carries more weight than the member who centres structural extrapolation. The systems frame is load-bearing in the background; it doesn't need to be the headline.
