Overview

The east reach's navigation environment is particular: dense system packing in certain corridors, variable gate geometry at the outer edges, and a transit infrastructure that developed faster than the standardization frameworks that would have made component interoperability straightforward. The practical result is that navigation and sensor hardware for east reach transit often needs to be calibrated specifically for local conditions rather than configured from general-purpose components designed for the core corridor's more predictable geometry.

Kumho Navigation: Kumho is Dalbit's primary direct competitor in east reach navigation systems and the company that would most benefit from Dalbit's undisclosed supplier ownership becoming public. Kumho has complained informally to the east reach transit authority about the single-source service requirement that Dalbit's contracts impose, arguing it constitutes a barrier to competing maintenance provision. The authority has not acted; Kumho does not know about the Mirae ownership position that would give the complaint substantially more force.

The arrangement is commercially standard. What Dalbit's procurement documentation does not disclose to its clients — and what is absent from Dalbit's product specifications — is that Dalbit holds a 31% ownership stake in Mirae Optical Components, acquired through a private placement four years ago. Gameplay Relevance

The Mirae ownership arrangement is the investigative thread. The 31% stake exists in Commission registration filings. The service contract language requiring Dalbit-sourced components is in client contracts. The gap between "engineering compatibility requirement" and "we co-own the parts supplier" is demonstrable by comparison. A client who understood the relationship would have grounds to challenge whether the exclusive service requirement was justified on engineering grounds or commercial ones.

Dalbit's service network also makes it a source of operational information about east reach transit activity — the engineers who service navigation systems observe the vessels they work on and the routes those vessels run.

The Mirae ownership situation creates a specific vulnerability for Dalbit if exposed: the service contracts that require clients to use Dalbit-sourced components are standard maintenance terms that clients accepted without knowing the component supplier was partially Dalbit-owned.
