Write 21 new Guide entries for all core systems (24 total with the 3 existing), plus the Guide index with preface and 6 sector chapter files (core complete, cardinal stubs in Guide voice). THE DRIFTER'S GUIDE TO THE REACH — THE DEEP FRONTIER
75 systems. Correspondent assignments in progress. Some significantly overdue.
The deep frontier is the outermost ring of the Reach — recent activations, contested territories, systems where the gate opened recently enough that the question of who governs is answered with a shrug and a gesture toward whoever is standing nearest to the transit platform. The Guide's coverage of the Deep Frontier is, by editorial admission, the least complete section of the publication, for reasons that include the difficulty of reaching these systems, the difficulty of leaving them on schedule, and the specific difficulty of filing copy from locations where the data relay infrastructure has not yet been built.
Three of the Guide's field researchers are currently listed as "on extended assignment" in this region. Adams & Ford Publishing Syndicate maintains that extended silence is not necessarily indicative of a problem. The entries these researchers were assigned remain listed as "forthcoming" in the Guide's system index.
