Miryang is an agricultural exporter — one of the corridor's few systems at this hop distance that runs a consistent food surplus. The M4.5 primary provides stable low-energy irradiation suited to the enclosed horticultural complexes that dominate the habitable body's productive surface, and the founding community invested in agricultural infrastructure as a deliberate long-term strategy rather than incidental development. The surplus flows coreward through Bridgepoint (GJ 53A) toward the inner reach and Gateway-adjacent systems, which represents an unusual reverse-dependency for a hop-5 system: Miryang ships food inward rather than receiving it.
The food export economy creates a specific governance dynamic: agricultural cooperatives control the most economically significant assets, which means cooperative governance structures are entrenched in a way that would be difficult to displace even if anyone were trying.
