Write 14 new Guide entries completing hop 2 (Cairn) and all hop 3 systems with wiki content: Okafor Station, Tanegashima, Altair, EZ Aqr, Johannsen's Star, Lalande, Ross 154, Wolf 359, Yongjin, Caldwell Point, Suzhou, Puerto Rivera, Kensho. Also: write Kensho wiki entry (Miri, reviewed by Paula), delete deprecated GJ-702A placeholder, update core chapter with Kensho rating. THE DRIFTER'S GUIDE TO THE REACH — EZ AQR
EZ AQR was never developed. It was staffed. Gate Corporation classified it as an operational facility rather than a settlement for most of its occupied history, which meant population counts for Assembly tracking were not filed until the resident population exceeded the threshold that triggers mandatory registration. By then the community had been functionally present for two generations and simply hadn't noticed it wasn't official.
The Company Town
Gate Corporation is the system's founding institution, largest employer, infrastructure owner, and effective government for the majority of residents who live in company-managed habitat modules. Local governance exists as a transit worker council with consultative authority on shift scheduling and habitat conditions. Nobody mistakes it for political power.
The settlement's heritage profile is mixed in the way Gate Corporation postings always are: staff drawn from across the Reach with no dominant founding community. There is no cultural corridor identity because nobody chose to be here. Residents arrived on contract, stayed past their contracts, and called the result a community. Some second-generation locals have begun the kinds of civic organizing that precede genuine self-governance — a local school collective, a mutual aid fund — but these are very recent and fragile.
The Archive
Gate Corporation's monitoring function generates continuous records of transit patterns, cargo manifests, and vessel identification logs for every ship that passes through both gates. The archive is Gate Corp proprietary, reviewed internally, and shared with the Lattice Commission on formal request. The records go back thirty years. Several freight operators believe the archive contains scheduling anomalies that would demonstrate systematic favoritism toward certain cargo handlers at the Yongjin junction. Nobody has successfully filed a formal access request. Gate Corp's position is that transit monitoring data is operational infrastructure documentation, not commercial records subject to Commission audit. That position has not been tested in Assembly adjudication.
Practical Information
EZ Aqr is three hops from Gateway with two gate apertures — a through-route connecting the inner east corridor to the outer systems. The M5 flare star is dim. The population is small. The community is real in the way that communities are real when people have lived somewhere long enough to care about it, regardless of whether anyone's paperwork says they are a community yet.
