Port Desrochers handles traffic and commerce and institutional weight; Dernier Quai handles none of that. It is a dead_end off a junction — reachable, not en route. The French outpost character that defines the place comes from that original founding cohort and has been maintained in language, cultural practice, and civic architecture across three hundred years. It is not a museum; it is a living inheritance.

The M-dwarf primary is dim and red-shifted, producing the low-light conditions common across this corridor.
