 ## Backstory

-Born on Station Sova. Grew up in the freight district — child of logistics workers, pragmatic Krenn System upbringing. Joined Sova Logistics Consortium at 22, worked the docks for a decade before Nils (older sibling, always more ambitious) brought him into the ring. "It's just moving containers, Kael. You're good at this. We take care of our own." Two years in, Kael is good at it — efficient, careful, trusted. But the operation is escalating, Naia is worried, and Kael realizes he's in deeper than he intended. The exit attempt is Kael trying to reclaim a future that doesn't end in a cell or worse.

-Sabel is the ring's off-station contact — the external supplier who sends contraband (unlicensed lattice components, medical-grade neural replacements) through legitimate freight shipments to Sova. Sabel operates from elsewhere in the Krenn System (exact location unspecified in v0.1). The relationship with Devra is purely transactional: Sabel confirms transit timing, Devra coordinates local pickup.

 ## Backstory

-Born on Krenn Prime surface. Grew up in a mid-sized settlement where the Commission maintained a regional office — lattice infrastructure was part of daily life, and the people who maintained it were respected, ordinary workers. Sera joined the Commission at 21 as a field technician trainee, graduated to full field tech at 23. Spent 6 years on various postings — mostly routine, one stressful border-system relay where unlicensed lattice modifications were endemic and the local population viewed Commission as an occupying force. That posting burned Sera out. She requested a transfer to a quiet logistics hub. Station Sova, Krenn System. Home territory. Routine calibration checks, minimal confrontation. For 10 months, it was exactly what she needed. Then Naia started talking about Kael, and Sera's competence made her curious, and her curiosity made her compromised.

**Primary**: Enjoy the good life while it lasts.

-Torek is young, single, and for the first time in his life has money beyond rent and food. The source of that money is ambiguous — even to the player. It could be ring income (Torek handles dock inspections and could be receiving payments for looking away), a side hustle (freelance freight brokering), or an inheritance (an aunt on Krenn Prime who passed recently). The ambiguity is load-bearing: Torek's spending is a tell, but what it tells depends on the truth the player never fully confirms.
